Favorite Recipes of 2015
I hope your holidays have been happy ones! As the year draws to a close and the new one begins, it is always a time for reflection and new beginnings. I have enjoyed going through the posts of 2015, remembering the recipes that have made it to the blog this year. It made me happy to see all of the recipes that have already become part of our lives and family meals. I only post the recipes that I think are special enough to share so it wasn’t easy to pick which are my favorites, but what it came down to was, am I continuing to make it on a regular basis, is the flavor over the top great, and/or is it a family recipe that I want to save and pass down to my kids and am glad it finally made its way on here. With those reasons in mind, these are the favorite recipes of 2015.
These Chile Stuffed Baby Bell Pepper Appetizers made the top recipes of 2015 because of their amazing flavor. The combination of sausage, chiles, cheese, and smoky spices make them truly memorable.
I love the bright colors and flavor of these Roasted Bell Pepper and Egg Pastries. They are a little bit of work, but the end result more than makes up for any extra time spent.
I made this Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate many times during the holidays. It is perfect for when you are hosting a group of people since you can put it in the slow cooker and let your guests serve themselves. The best part about it, though, is how rich and creamy it is.
I am so happy to finally have a recipe here on Cook AZ I Do for guacamole. Now I don’t have to always try to remember how I made it that last time when it tasted so good.
I have been wanting to make Cream Puffs for years, just like my grandma used to do. I finally attempted it and was so happy to find out they weren’t difficult after all.
I love salad and homemade dressing and Caprese Salad was my favorite new salad and dressing I made this year. It has so much flavor, and I love the bright colors.
I am so glad to finally have this recipe for Pizza Sauce on the blog. I make it at least every other week as pizza sauce, spagetti sauce, over ziti, etc. It is the best all-around red sauce, but my favorite use is for pizza sauce. It is rich and garlicky!
Another family favorite I am so happy to finally have on here. I’ve been afraid I would lose it. These are the best Pancakes around!
Finally, a new chicken recipe that I love. This Butter Chicken is spicy and saucy and wonderful. It was my first experience cooking with Indian spices and opened up a whole new world to me.
My first attempt at cooking gluten-free, and I really hit the jackpot with these Strawberry Banana Muffins. I learned so much about gluten-free cooking and have a new favorite muffin recipe.
These Strawberry Peach Popcicles helped us get through a hot Arizona summer and for that reason alone makes them one of my favorites, but that isn’t the real reason. They are just like biting into a fresh peach. That might be because they are made of fresh peaches. Funny how that works. 🙂
I’ve been looking for a thick Fettuccine Alfredo recipe for a long time. I finally found it, and it’s a good one!
These Cuban Sliders are so delicious. I’ve made them many times this year. They make a great lunch or appetizer.
This method for hard boiled eggs really works. It saved me hours at Easter peeling egg shells. I have gotten feedback from many others who have tried it and been successful. It is a great classic recipe for Deviled Eggs as well.
A method for perfectly cooked bacon without the mess. Do I really need to say more? 🙂 I realize I’m late to the baking bacon party, but I’m so glad I finally got there!
Apple Streusal Pizza gets the award for the best fall dessert. At least for this year!
Chocolate Lover’s Cupcakes are heavenly! Seriously, one of the best cupcakes I’ve ever eaten.
I think I will probably be making this recipe for Pasta e Fagioli soup more often than almost any other recipe. It is so easy, practical, yummy, and everyone loves it. It is always nice to have a recipe that freezes well, too, so it can be made ahead of time.
These Chocolate Chip and Chunk Cookies are now my go to recipe when I want to make chocolate chip cookies. They are thick and soft and stuffed full of 2 kinds of chocolate.
My favorite recipe I found this year is Arizona Quiche. Full of bacon, jalapenos, and cream cheese, it is a great breakfast recipe for family or company. I have made it over and over, and it has turned out great every time.
I hope you have found some recipes you may have missed this year or found some new ones to try. I have many new recipes ready to share with you in 2016. Thank you for all of your support and feedback this year. It has really meant a lot to me. I wish for you a happy, healthy new year, as well as a year of many happy hours sitting around your kitchen table sharing food and conversation with family and friends!
